My husband and I (pictured above) have always shared a love for African wildlife, culture and design. After years of watching every wildlife program on Animal Planet and National Geographic, attending African craft fairs and listening to friends describe their adventures; we decided it just wasn't enough.  Through a wonderful luxury travel and conservation organization called

And Beyond, in 2007 we finally made our way to Kenya and Tanzania for the most exciting adventure of our lives, an African safari (strictly photo).  We went for the wildlife adventure never realizing we would come home with so much more, a great affection for the rural African tribal people.  In September of 2009 we returned to Africa with our grown daughter who had never experienced anything like this before in her life.  We discovered the wilds of South Africa at Phinda Private Game Reserve.

Meeting the remote tribal community members, their children and seeing how they live was a life-altering experience.  Perhaps best described as a REAWAKENING of the SOUL!

IMAGINE… living in a mud hut with no clean water, no appliances, little or no furniture, no electricity, no hospitals, no cars, and the list goes on and on. Hunger, disease and death is the daily plight of so many remote African tribes. These remote villagers basically know nothing of the grandiose problems of the world. There is no global banking crisis for them, no home foreclosures, no bank bailouts, no pressure of losing money on Wall Street. Some might think they're lucky. Think again! Their crisis is surviving from day-to-day and earning enough to feed their families.

This knowledge gave birth to 4 Africa Now.  In 2011 we returned to Kenya specifically to get acquainted with the villagers of the Masai Mara area. Our purpose is to assist these remote villages in our own small way by selling their wonderful handmade creations.  Your purchase of any item helps these people with basic necessities of life that we often take for granted.
